There is a new live event on the bayou in Hunt: Showdown. O Traitor’s Moon Event is coming to servers worldwide and brings with it new “Orwellian” effigies to smash, clues to find, and legendary hunters and weapons.
I just jumped into the game to get a quick idea of what’s on offer, and I must say that there are some really cool legendary skins to earn through event points. The Moonflower Berthier Mle 1892 looks especially tasty, though you’ll have to reach 6,500 event points to unlock it.
I don’t know how quickly you would get to that number yet. For past events, the Hunt: Showdown team has tweaked the rate at which you collect points, although it seems like lessons were learned there and a more consistent event point system is in place these days. If this happens as the last event to score, you’ll have to play a few games during the 21-day duration of the event to hit the top unlocks, but I hope I don’t dedicate your life to that.
The other interesting addition to this event is that Crytek is taking the opportunity to add some new weapons to the game: Scottfield Brawler, Berthier Riposte, Caldwell Model 92 New Army, and Winfield Model 93 Slate. They will unlock later outside of the event, but if you reach the required event points, you can play with them sooner.
In addition to the free items unlocked with event points, there is also a new Legendary Pack on the Steam store. Includes the legendary hunter The Turncoat; two guns, a pair of Dolch 96s called Crossfire and Ambush; and a legendary ammo crate (Red Cask). What I’m pretty sure is the first legendary ammo crate in the game.
Traitor’s Moon should be available now to pretty much everyone as the PC downtime was earlier in the day Central European Time. If you don’t want to grind or buy anything either, you can still enjoy the game as usual, just with a little different vibe on each map.
