Hey, do you want a free game? Of course it does, and GOG has a very good one to win over the next few days. Thea 2: The Destruction is a turn-based strategy RPG in which players become a deity inspired by Slavic mythology.
Your job is simple, at least in theory: lead a small band of faithful who are struggling to survive in a procedurally generated fantasy world. This noble goal can be achieved through war or diplomacy, such as a sprawling empire or a traveling nomad, and play solo or co-op for up to three people.
Thea 2 was released in 2019 and has since racked up a user rating of 3.5/5 on GOG and a “very positive” rating on Steam in 1,500 user reviews. Unfortunately, developer MuHa Games has recently faced a backlash and several negative reviews from users, for expressing support for Ukraine and promising to donate all proceeds from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine to Ukrainian charities.
Thea 2: The Shattering is free until 9am ET April 1st as part of the ongoing program GOG Games Festival: Spring Editionwhich features a variety of demos for over 50 new and upcoming games and of course all kinds of discounts. The online event runs until April 4th.
